Reminder: BlogHer conference starts this Friday

Monday, July 23rd, 2007

edwards.jpg

As I mentioned back in April, the annual BlogHer conference will be held in Chicago starting this Friday. The event will bring in female bloggers from all throughout the country to speak on a wide variety of topics including identity issues, photography, crafts (with panel speaker comedienne Amy Sedaris), tax implications of blogging for pay (from taxgirl), and technical labs to teach you design and other relevant skills. There really is something for every blogger. The conference is open to everyone, men and women alike, and the organizers state that last year the attendees were 25% male. Online registration is still available. You have the option of registering for a single day or for the whole weekend.

Check out this link to see all of the great speakers and panel topics that are available. The closing keynote speaker will be Elizabeth Edwards, wife of Presidential candidate John Edwards.

Blogher ‘07 to be held in Chicago in July

Friday, April 27th, 2007

BlogHer '07 logo The 2007 Blogher conference will be held in Chicago on July 27th-29th. Here is information about theme and goals of the conference from the official website:

The Theme: A World of Difference

As you can see by our beautiful conference button, our theme this year is A World of Difference. BlogHer’s annual event continues to be dedicated to bringing bloggers together, and to celebrate the fact that although there are, in fact, many blogospheres, we can find common ground. Programming and activities will be designed not only to help birds of a feather flock together, but also to help bloggers learn from those outside their own flock.

By celebrating A World of Difference we hope to make BlogHer ‘07 a place where you can both meet your virtual friends face-to-face, and a place to broaden your blogging horizons and learn from the collective wisdom of the entire BlogHer community.

The event will feature a wide variety of panels and speakers that should appeal to almost every blogger. For more information or to register, visit the Blogher website.
